Water, water, water! Your new plants will need at least an inch of water once per week for the first growing season. A plant that has died due to lack of water is not covered under our warranty. In the heat of summer, you may have to water daily and continue to water into fall. Water should pool up to the base of the plant when the soil has been adequately watered. Do not only water around the base of the plant but several feet around the base so the roots remain wet. We recommend watering three times per week (minimum, but during a dry, hot summer, you may need to water daily); rainwater does not count. It is best to water early in the day to prevent root rot.
